Opinel Round Ended Safety Knife

This Round Ended Safety Knife from Opinel, is a folding penknife designed with beginners and children in mind. It has an ideal width handle for smaller hands, which gives good grip whilst maintaining control. 

These knives are great for whittling, for Forest School type activities and picnics. They are a great first or follow-on knife once a child has shown ability and safety with a peeler.

The 10cm varnished PEFC-certified Hornbeam handle comes in Natural, Red or Blue colours and is sustainably sourced from farms in the Jura and Vercors regions. 

The Stainless Steel 8cm Blade offers excellent sharpness and high resistance to wear.  It requires no special maintenance under ordinary conditions. 

The round tip of the blade aids in safe use and is also good for spreading butter! 

The Virobloc locking safety ring (invented by Marcus Opinel in 1855!) ensures that the stainless steel blade stays safely in the handle when not in use or is locked safely out when in use.
